About Project Kintsugi
We are here to remind you that you’re not alone
Project Kintsugi is an online community to educate, elevate and connect people affected by divorce, domestic violence and mental health challenges.
In February 2019, it started as a safe space, as a support group for women dealing with divorce, domestic violence and mental health challenges.
What started as a one person initiative in 2019 is now a community of 1300+ women helping and uplifting each other.
About the Founder
Hello there! My name is Indu. People now identify me as that Kintsugi girl and I am based out of Chennai, India.
I started Project Kintsugi in February 2019, just a few months after my divorce, when I was looking for a new purpose in life.
When I turned 30, I shared a post on Instagram about being 30, single & depressed. So many women could relate to it. What started as an experience sharing initiative, became a support group overnight. This is also when I realized that so many people around me were also going through challenges in life and my post made them (and me!) realize that we are not alone.
Just a month after that I did my first ever meet & greet for women dealing with divorce and mental health issues. That’s when it all started, I had about 6-8 participants, two single mothers exchanged numbers to be friends and someone left me a note thanking me for creating a platform where she could talk about her divorce without her tearing up.
In July 2019, I added domestic violence as a part of the support group after I posted about my lived experience through it and opened my inbox to others with similar stories.
Almost 4 years later, now we are now a community of 1300+ women, we have a Telegram group, a Facebook private group and chat rooms for women from across the world to connect with each other.
